Dental Genetics Oral Health Awareness Program

What is #DGOHAP?

#DGOHAP is a pan-India drive to create and raise public awareness about different aspects of Oral health and related diseases (e.g. dental caries, gum disease, oral cancer, etc.) and a first of its kind effort in India to propagate the benefits of genetic and genomic technologies in disease detection.

Who can attend?

#DGOHAP camps are for everyone irrespective of age, caste, creed, color

Short term goals:

  • To motivate and make people understand the benefits of early detection and prevention of oral diseases
  • To create awareness about genetics and genomic technologies in disease detection
  • To create public awareness about simple preventive dental technologies
  • To propagate tobacco intervention initiatives
  • To enhance public awareness about the effects of oral health on general health and vice versa.

Long term goals:

  • To serve the community by providing proper preventive dental treatments
  • To provide dental genetic testing to one and all
  • To attain a caries-free society
  • To provide fruitful and correct referrals (when and where applicable)

Project: DESTINATION SMILE (HashyoKamal)

DESTINATION SMILE is a project aiming to raise public awareness of signs and symptoms of Oral cancer and habit intervention strategies for early detection and prevention of Oral cancer.
